"The Third Way" was a solo show at King's Leap in 2017.

Press Release:

Stars in the sky; Thatcher, Churchill but also Ringo; you wonder, were you last in London? When? Has it been a day? A week? A year? Fuck it even matters, now is the time. The grey authority of an ancient solidarity awaits you; London is one of the worldʼs most celebrated cities. Not bad for something old!

So why now? Well…

Think on it: something is happening. Across the globe you hear it; values are shifting, progress made; heroes standing and nations rising; and falling. This is an infection, a good one, and all over (all over!) deals are sallying forth, presenting themselves. Deals previously thought impossible. Impossible deals. This is the gist of Virgin Atlanticʼs recent web campaign, “Br£xit Calculator”.

As Nick Parker, Head of India and Middle East, for Virgin Atlantic Airways always says: "…never been a better …to travel …UK ...Indian Rupee…record high …the Pound …save on literally everything …visit the UK.” Todayʼs traveller has holdings in multiple currencies. Born in a Bipolar world, down a wall, told was Unipolar, and now a wall. Must now be Tripolar, but whereʼs the limit? Please visit.

'The Third Way', a solo presentation by David Roesing, offers groupings of works in triplicate. Three drawings on dry erase board, three inkjet prints on dry erase sheets, three prints on paper, and three security gates for windows.

Synthesized from scans of a globe, a model of a computer, Remingtonʼs paintings of horses, a found puzzle, screens shots from the “Br£xit” campaign, and a newspaper article about an early hacker, these works are rooted in the theater of design, where pictures are rhetorical, and images are seductive gloves over ideologiesʼ damp hand.
